ISS-ABOVE is proud to partner and collaborate with the following companies and non-profits
The ISS National Lab. In 2011, NASA chose ISS National Lab (CASIS) to be the sole manager of the International Space Station U.S. National Laboratory. The mission of CASIS is to maximize use of this unparalleled platform for innovation, which can benefit all humankind and inspire a new generation to look to the stars.
in 2017 ISS-Above was awarded a grant by ISS National Lab - CASIS for a program to develop custom curriculum for grades 6-8 and to deploy ISS-Above's in to 100 Middle Schools and science centers around the USA. These units have been deployed as of January 2018 and the project is on-going. An impact evaluation study is being conducted to measure how this program impacts the students to pursue a STEM career.
The Planetary Society has a mission to empower the world's citizens to advance space science and exploration. As the world's largest non-profit space interest organization they sponsor projects that seed innovative space technologies, nurture creative young minds and advocate for our future in space. Jointly, we work on:
Education and curriculum development
Raising awareness of The Planetary Society's LightSail™ spacecraft
Kickstarter rewards (we created a custom version of the ISS-Above called LightSail-Above that was a backer reward for their LightSail Kickstarter)
Member discounts on ISS-ABOVE
Magnitude.io with their ExoLab platform provides schools with a unique way to have students working as co-investigators on experiments running on the International Space Station while the same experiment is in their own classroom.
ISS-Above is commonly installed in schools alongside Magnitude’s ExoLab experiment hardware.
We have co-presented at the ISS R&D conference - and regularly exhibit alongside one-another at conferences.
ISS-Above is proud to be a member of the Space Station Explorers by CASIS:
Space Station Explorers is a community of educational partners and programs that use the International Space Station as a platform to inspire and engage learners in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
As part of this program you will find us:
Exhibiting at educational/STEM conferences such as ISS R&D / NSTA / SEEC and many more.
Attending the CASIS annual education summit at Kennedy Space Center to help shape the development of education and outreach.
Partnering with other SSE organizations (e.g. Magnitude.io) to expand educational impact
Blue Yūgen brings a wealth of expertise reaching the luxury travel market.
Together, we are working on programs to bring the ISS-Above, featuring views of the earth, to hotels and travel experiences across the world and many other public locations.
Early examples include shipping the ISS-Above to COMO Hotels in the Maldives and Thailand as part of their Space Camp experience for hotel guests.
Challenger Learning Centers continue the Challenger crew’s educational mission, carrying their spirit forward through the Challenger Center for Space Science Education with locations across the US:
Partnering with NASA, Beating the Odds and ISS-ABOVE to bring unique learning experiences to the Challenger Centers.
Developing curriculum in collaboration with teachers, NASA, BTO and ISS-Above to support STEM programs in schools.
Made in Space has developed additive manufacturing technology for use in the space environment. By manufacturing space assets in space using 3D-printing technology, the company plans to accelerate and broaden space development while also providing unprecedented access for people on Earth to use in-space capabilities. We collaborate by:
Sharing information about Made in Space projects with ISS-ABOVE customers, corporations and schools.
Collaborating to bring the public's attention to space-based manufacturing and its importance to the future of human spaceflight.
